About NutriLab

Better decisions start with seeing the whole picture.

We are building food tracking for people with a real goal—and a healthy suspicion of unexplained numbers.

01 / WHY

A calorie target can help you lose weight or build muscle. But only if tracking survives contact with real life.

Conventional logging asks you to search, weigh, enter, and repeat. Photo scanning removes much of that work—but can replace tedious certainty with convenient mystery.

NutriLab is our attempt to keep the speed and return the judgement to you.

What guides the product

Trust has layers.

Not abstract values on a wall—decisions visible in the product.

01

Transparency

Show ingredients, portions, and limitations rather than hiding them behind a final score.

02
?

Honesty

Say what the system cannot know from one image, in language a person can use.

03

Control

Let the person looking at the plate make the final correction.

Where it began

The idea won twice. Then we built it.

NutriLab proudly won Overall Best and Most Impactful at Prudential Young Trailblazers 2024, selected from 24 teams. Those awards gave us the momentum to turn the idea into the iOS alpha available today.

Where we are now

Past the pitch deck. Inside real meals.

The iOS alpha now covers personal goal setup, meal-photo scanning, ingredient review, uncertainty explanations, corrections, calories and macros, and daily or weekly progress.

We are testing the parts that matter in practice: where the scanner helps, where it gets confused, and whether seeing its reasoning makes food tracking easier to continue.

Our origins

Started in school.
Built in Singapore.

NutriLab began as a high-school initiative in Singapore, co-founded by Brayden Chang and Dishnu Premanandan. The idea was to make food tracking easier to use and easier to understand.

Winning Overall Best and Most Impactful at Prudential Young Trailblazers 2024 gave the team the momentum to keep building. That initiative has since grown into the iOS alpha we are developing and testing today.
